If there was one central “theme word” of my life that I had to choose, it would be “Presence”.
I feel as if it is a recurring theme in a lot of my writing and speaking, too.
I am constantly making a concerted effort to live in the moment – to take in and experience life as it happens.
I still plan, I still reflect, but I do it all in the effort of maintaining presence.
So, as this moment is current, I think not only about this moment but how life’s moments flow through a day…
Like a current.
When I am able to maintain presence in a day, everything flows well and the current of the day moves along swimmingly.
However, when I am getting stuck on past troubles or future uncertainties, I find that I am fighting the current.
I am fighting the day as it flows along, trying to go against the stream and fight my way to something that isn’t present.
I felt that this analogy really put me in a place to let life continue to flow with me, not against me.
We don’t want to make things difficult, so let’s make things present.
Let’s be current in the current.
“I believe a few word can change your day and your life.”
