We are a little over a month into 2021, so I started reflecting on my goals I set for myself on the 1st of the year.
I reflected on them not so much to look at my progress thus far, but to remind myself of what I’m working towards.
Each goal I set for myself means something to me.
They represent self-betterment, growth, and many other things.
Each morning, when I make my to-do list, I become determined to check each box off.
When I leave a box unchecked as I lay my head on my pillow at night, it just doesn’t sit right.
I don’t want to be behind in my steps towards reaching my goal, but more importantly, I don’t want to lose out on an opportunity.
Each day that we stray from our path to our goals, the harder it gets to get back on the path.
There are so many things that would be more fun or easier to do than continue to take those steps.
However, this isn’t true if you truly enjoy the grind towards the goal.
Especially if it’s something you want really bad.
I’ve learned how to structure my goals to be that – something I not only will enjoy progressing towards, but ultimately really want to happen in my life.
We don’t want to be pushing hard for something that does nothing for us.
We want to put in the work to get a result.
That’s everything in life – we are always working on/towards something, so why not have it be what is best, what is enjoyable, and what is right?
I encourage you to remind yourself of your goals today.
Not to reflect on progress thus far, but to remind yourself of what steps are to come and to motivate yourself to keep moving forward towards it.
Don’t stray – let’s play.
